Why is TELUS Health conducting research?
TELUS Health is a digital workplace mental health platform powered by psychological science and research. In order to ensure that TELUS Health has maximum impact, we are committed to continuously evaluating the efficacy of the platform in real-world workplace settings. To do this, we partner with an organisation, invite employees to use the platform, and ask them some questions about their mental health and wellbeing over time. Results from these studies help us to understand how TELUS Health works for users.
Why am I being asked to take part?
If you have received an invitation to take part in an TELUS Health Research study, your employer has partnered with TELUS Health. Alongside the rollout of TELUS Health as a benefit across your company, you will be given the opportunity to participate in a research study to evaluate the platform. This will also help your employer to understand how TELUS Health works for you and your colleagues.
What will I be asked to do?
If you decide to participate, you will be asked to use the TELUS Health platform, and answer some additional surveys that will be sent to you via email from a secure data collection platform. The surveys should take less than 15 minutes to complete each time. Please refer to the TELUS Health Research information sheet sent to you by your employer for the exact amount of surveys you will be asked to complete.
Will my employer have access to the data I provide?
No, never. The survey answers you provide as part of the research study are handled entirely by TELUS Health Research. We will never share identifiable information about you and your mental health with your employer. A written report will be shared with your employer at the end of the study, which will contain anonymous, aggregate data only.
Do I have to take part?
No. You will still receive access to TELUS Health through your employer if you choose to not take part in this research study.
How long do I have to decide if I want to take part?
The typical recruitment period for TELUS Health Research studies is 2-3 weeks. When we evaluate the impact of TELUS Health, it is important that we have a measure of your ‘baseline’, that is, your level of wellbeing before you use the platform. This is so that we can effectively evaluate the impact of using the platform on any change in wellbeing that we might detect. For this reason, we need users to sign up to the research study before we roll out TELUS Health across your company. You will not be able to sign up to the study after the recruitment period has ended.
Will I still get access to TELUS Health after the study finishes?
Yes. You will get access to TELUS Health for as long as your employer is partnered with us.
What if I change my mind about participating?
You can contact the TELUS Health Research team at any time via the Help Centre if you choose to withdraw from the study after you sign up. The team will then delete your data. You will still have access to TELUS Health if you withdraw from the study.
